Am I able to run an HP Windows XP disk to access the Recovery Console on a Gateway? Basically I am going to work on a laptop later and I need to get to the Recovery Console on a Gateway, but I only have an HP Windows XP SP2 disk. I AM NOT TRYING TO INSTALL WINDOWS. I JUST WANT TO GET TO THE RECOVERY CONSOLE. Thanks!

If the CD boots then it should load a few setup files and give you the Recovery Console "press R" option.

You could even install the Recovery Console as a permanent option and not have to use any CD in the future.

How to install and use the Recovery Console in Windows XP

Thanks Linney. I figured it would work, but I wasn't sure if the HP proprietary CD would limit the Gateway notebook I put it in.
