I posted a thread eariler about my problem and because of it i did a clean install of windows xp pro. All drivers are digitally signed. I have a pen 4 2.0ghz with 512mb of pc2700 ram, 10 gig master w/ windows and an 80gig for a slave, radeon 9800 pro. all drivers are up to date and so is windows. ive tried and shut down all background services that i dont use. tried tweak xp, tried customizer xp, tried bootvis and nothing has changed. even with a complete new installation and reformat of hd. I am completely puzzled by this and any help what so ever would be greatly appreciated.

What about wattage , have you enough power ,is the 4pin 12v connector to mb seated properly

i have a 400 watt power supply, and the 12v connector is seated properly but im sure it is not a power issue because all the hardware in my computer works flawlessly

windows xp pro slow-down/has a lot of lagg when opening up applications when using only one for a while, also when playing music in any audio player lagg is quite apparent and really pisses me off because i have tried many things to fix it but nothing seems to work

Have you installed the intel application accelerator

i have outdated drivers for my sound maybe that could be the problem? also IDE drivers are out of date maybe problem there. I dont have an intel chipset on my computer rather i have a via mainboard motherboard.

So maybe updating some drivers will help you out ,worth the try ...

i updated the drivers that were old ones and i still have lag but hardely any at all...

I am having the same problem with an AMD XP2100+, 256 mb PC3200, 40gig, Nforce 2 vga, Asus M7V8X-X mobo. It started when I changed from a 256 meg stick of PC2700 to PC3200. I changed back and same thing: slow response and VERY slow bootup. The bar that goes across the screen on the Windows XP Pro splash screen travels across the screen 19 times. Any suggestions?

bootvis , and perfectdisk6 defragger .
Perfectdisk is excellent best defragmenter i've ever had .
After running this on my system the bar runs 1 1/2 time.
