Hi...I hope that someone out there can help me with my XP problem.
My mom rebooted her computer because windows messenger said she was offline and she thought that a reboot would fix it. However, it booted into the boot options screen. She chose "Last known good configuration', but the computer booted back into the boot screen and she could not get any further. I then attempted to take her through the process of reinstalling windows XP over the phone, which she has to do by floppy disk since her cdrom does not want to read the burnt copy :-( of windows XP. Everything seemed to be going fine. During the setup, the only thing that we missed was configuring the internet settings. I told her to skip that step and that we could go back and do it later. (She uses Bell Sympatico DSL). She rebooted computer again, and this time, the windows XP wallpaper (hills and sky) came up, but no icons. It is not frozen, as the mouse still moves.
Please tell me if you have any suggestions...we are desperate and my mom is taking it out on me!!! (hahaha) Thanks.
