Hi:
I have an issue with my Windows XP (Home Edition) booting up correctly. The system boots up fine but after it says that is s loading "Personal Settings", it starts powering down (saving your personal settings, closing connections etc.) and then reboots. It's stays in this loop and doesn't get into to showing the 'desktop'. Has anyone had similar issues? How did you resolve it ?
I've also tried to use the recovery CD but not know what's causing the issue, I couldn't do anything with that.
I also tried to use the original disk - to boot from there and it tried to put another occurance of the operating system on the hard drive (doesn't give me a repair option).
What is the best approach to solve this, given that I would like to save my data on the drive and if possible, keep my settings.
thanks in advance.
