Ok, this isn't the first time I have seen this problem. When I try to login to a shared folder from any of my 5 computers running Windows XP it takes about 15 seconds to bring up the files. If I stay idle for about 15 minutes it takes another 15 seconds to view or open files on a network share. This seems like it would be a common problem but I haven't found any information on it.

Thanks!

In a workgroup adjust the autodisconnect parameters on the sharing computers:

You should also disable the default search for scheduled tasks:

Start, Run, regedit
Go to

HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion
/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace
Export this key (in order to back it up)
Then delete the key called:

{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF} (Task Scheduler).

Close the registry.

I changed both of the settings and it is still doing the same thing. I noticed that if I connect to my server with windows 2000 it works just fine, it seems to be something related to my Windows XP clients.

Thanks
