NO
WinXP Pro installation on an old Compaq presario 600mhz p3 PC. Unable to get
an
internet connection via dial-up. No ICS. Stand alone
machine. Troubleshooting. Protocols/passwords and dial up
config all good and checked. Checked modem in Device
Manager - no problems reported. Using win2k driver for the ISDN adapter.
PC Worked the first time I booted after installation, even got connected to
the internet.
But after a reboot it stopped working. Probably after I installed the ISDN
adapter. But it WORKED before i rebooted.

Network Connections folder completely empty - no
icons! Right clicking on icon area and using "refresh"
brings up error message.

"The Network Connections Folder was unable to retrieve the
list of network adapters on your machine. Please make sure
that network Connection service is enabled and running"

Guess problem has something to do with my ISDN adapter, does it install some
network drivers that gets loaded after a reboot, old win2k drivers?
Baffled.

roll back?

I've tried disabling everyting that has to do with the network. isdn card, nic AND firewire.

i tried restarting the service but it wouldn't even stop.
