My laptop originally comes with Windows xp, and a 40GB harddrive. I use Partition magic made one more partition, and installed windows 2000. But when I come back to XP, there is a 4 GB unallocated partition (extended), after deleted by PM, my laptop can't restart again: NTLDR missing.

BTW: My laptop doesn't have floppy disk drive.

any idea? Thanks

It sounds like your MBR is messed up. Can you use your XP CD to go into Recovery Console? (you will need the master administrator password to do this) from the console run -"fixmbr"
There is an overview on running Recovery Console here:

Kim.

Thanks for reply, I don't know what the administraor password is, how can I get it?

Try asking whoever owns the computer the Administrator password, how bout that!
