Windows XP losing System Time

Hello All. I have several new dell workstations running XP pro. 3 of the 5 workstations lose system time by as much as 15 minutes on the hour. You can actually watch the time slow down and then catch back up. I am running a Win2k server environment and have used the NET TIME command to sync the workstations time with the server. I think thats when the time catches back up is when the time syncs with the DC. They are running pretty much standard apps; Office XP, ACT! 2000, Email, that srt of thing. All 5 of the workstations are running pretty much identical apps. Any help will be appreciated.

I think there might be a problem with Dell machines if you follow the story in these links.

Yeah i am having the same problem to.And i have a dell p4 1.9 i just got it abought 2 months ago.Thanks for the links linney i will have to check them out.

Try uninstalling Norton 2002 or getting the update from symantec

hey dell tech:

The problem exists on many dell machines that aren't running any Norton software. Come to think of it, he never mentioned having Nortion. Plus, this guy posted this almost a month ago.

I have a similar problem running XP prof on my Brand X computer, except the clock runs fine until all at once it loses EXACTLY three hours. This happens only once every couple of weeks. Help?

HI

If you go to services and stop time manager, then disable it. This works fine.
