i installed windows xp, but when it goes to the boot screen it freezes. the system meets all the system requirements.

When did you install XP, has it ever worked. Clean install after formatting or Upgrade installation?

This article will outline some of the common problems when preparing for an XP installation.

HOW TO: Prepare to Upgrade Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition to Windows XP(Q316639)

That said, a Clean install of XP on a freshly formatted drive is the more recommended option.

I did a clean install and I had formatted the drive before installing. I had XP up and running and then I put the service pack on. After that I rebooted the system and it would hang at the boot screen. Why?
