windows XP command line plugins

Are there any plugins that would enable full OS funcionality for the command line in windows XP? I'm thinking of something like linux. Or maybe I am asking a lame question, and there is already great functionality in command.com?

Either way, Just looking for something to do.

Start, Run, and type %Windir%\Help\ntcmds.chm

Explore and see if you find something in the Command line you are missing.

By the way, creating a new desktop shortcut with the above line as its target is a very useful thing to have on the desktop.
