We are using Novell Netware 5 since quite some time. The application is Foxpro based on DOS operating system booted remotely.Recently we added some more workstations but having Windoes XP home OS. With the help Novell client software we were able to connect to the server. But there is one trouble:- Our login script contains the "comspec" statement which is not accepted by Win XP.This system gives error while executing the login script : "compspec is not supported on this OS".

How to resolve this problem ? Can someone help ?

Thanks In Advance

Assuming the spelling is not the issue then I assume it is because COMSPEC is expecting COMMAND.COM on the path. Do you have WIN95 machines to test this behaviour?

You could put an IF "%OS" statement in so that the COMSPEC command only runs if the operating system is a certain type. Check in the environment statements to see what it sets the OS variable to on XP as I am not too sure. -----------------------------------------------------

Our outfit runs Dbase in DOS environment, and we don't even need the COMSPEC statement. Try removing it and see if it is even needed. We did have to use it with Netware 3.x, but with 5.x it had no effect.....workstations running 98, XP and 2000 with no ill effects
