Windows Workgroup no available

All of the sudden...the Windows workgroup at my site is not available...

BUT...

If I type the path to a share or a PC in the work group, I connect with no problems...

Its as though the ability to BROWSE the work group is somehow impeeded...

any thoughts on how to get this back? We are using both Win 2000 and XP Pro....

Thank you for the response bcastner....but here is what has transpired since I posted this message...

I went to one pc on the network (just a work station running Win 2K) and typed the following:

ping

http://www.weather.com

It responded as it should with the ping requests from the weather channels website, and all of the sudden the entire work group was browsable from ALL PC's.

I can only assume that DNS was somehow involved at the router (which is also our DHCP server) and was causing a problem with internal name resolutions...just a guess on my part though...
