I have 3 pcs networked at home and rather than each individual pc doing its own updates i would prefer to do it via one download and then distribute them to the others - is that possible??

Yes. You can download the individual files once and then apply them to each machine. In fact, I do that to keep the patches on hand so I don't have to redownload them again.

See the Microsoft Update Catalog site.

Then you can either run each file or set them up in batch file to run in sequence using the proper command-line parms. Or there are different scripts and apps that people have cooked up to automate that (as much as possible).

Hope that helps and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Measurement is not management.

Ok - thanks heaps - so i guess what i do is when i am notified by windows update on my computer that there are downloads ready to go I make a note of them and then go to the windows update catalog and do a search for them and then download them - once done i can then install them individually or use a script method (which sounds interesting - must find out more about that).

:-D

Hey - that looks a real possibility for me to try - thanks a lot. :-D
