Windows update

My buddy keeps getting errors on his two pcs. When attempting to update via windows update his update list comes up fine. All of the available updates are there. When he attempts to install, its initializes the installation but then reports all updates as failed immediatly. I do not have this problem on any of my pc's. Does anyone have any experience with this problem?

The fact that it's affecting two PC's leads me to believe it might be a firewall issue. Make sure he disables his software firewall temporarily to see if that's it.

Also make sure the system date is correct.

Well, the two pcs are on two completely different networks, the firewalls have both been checked and disabled. With no results.

Ran a virus scan that resulted in 100+ dedections and removals. Still having the problem though, even with a clean system. The computer was scanned twice to ensure it was virus free.

Other than some registry editions I found for a similar, but not exact problem I think I am out of options.

I am open for Ideas.

It's best if you search the MS KB for the exact error. I recall when this happened to me before, it was pretty easy to resolve. Can't remember for the life of me what I did. Think it might of had something to do with the update version (this would make sense if it has been a long time since he last ran the updates).

Also don't forget to check the system date.
