Windows update broken

Hi,

I just tried to run windows update on a newly built Windows 2000 server and it reported that all necessary patches are applied. This is of course incorrect.

I used hfnetchk to review the patch level, and behold, the server is way out of patch level.

My question is, has anyone had this problem in the past and how did they resolve it?

ps- the server was built with HP Smartstart (DL380).

On the server go to..

http://4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com

If you dont have this version of windows update it will ask you to install it.

Give it a whirl m8!

Check the group policy, you can disable windows update features in there, make sure there is nothing disabled.
