I work as a tech and in the last month or so, I've started to encounter several computers with internet problems. They all connect to the web without any problems, but once you;ve connected, they can't browse to any websites.
The affected systems seem to be Win9X family, and I've tried all sorts of things, from reinstalling drivers, recreating the dialup connections, resetting IE security settings. I think I've tried updating the browser too. They've only started appearing here recently and I hadn't seen anything like that previously. But the modems DO work - if you run a recovery on the systems, then they work fine, so it's definitly software problems. No viruses on the systems either, but whether anything had been removed beforehand I don't know.
Any ideas / solutions would be greatly appreciated.
