I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to ask this, but I'm going to ask anyway. If this post doesn't belong here, please move or delete it.

This is my problem. I have some files on my computer that I need to share with a friend. Problem is that he has a mac and I'm running win xp. I'm not sure, but I think that they have different formats for their disks and therefore cannot read eachothers cd's. Can anybody tell me if I need to convert the data and how to do this? Thanks in advance.

While I'm here, I'll ask one more question. I'm looking for an expert forum on vectorworks (mac) for the same friend. As it's not on tektips, does anybody know of a good expert forum for vectorworks?

There is no need to specially format the files. As long as your friend has the corresponding Mac application (example Word for .doc, or Photoshop for .psd) he will not have a problem.

The UDF format (for CD's) is recognized by both systems, but Macs have been able to read PC files since the advent of the PowerPC. So he will be able to view even ISO formatted disks.

Hope it helps.

Wow JT that almost looked like you knew what you were doing!

It also works the other way without problems. On the Mac, you have finder related hidden .ds files they are visible on the PC end, but you can delete them from a Toast session. I use Toast Lite 5.2.2.1 and have no issues with Hybrid (as Toast calls them) CD's being read on Windows or Linux.
