I am installing windows 2000 pro on a system with a Adeptech AHA-2940U2W. every thing goes well but when it says starting windows 2000 i get a mess of stop errors.
these are the error codes.
0x00000051
0x0000000c
0xcoooooo5
0xf2463384
0xf2462fdc
REGISTRY_ERROR

any help would be great thanks

In the very begining of the install process, Windows 2000 asks about the different controllers in your PC (usually shows the IDE controller). At that point, did you load the SCSI drivers for the Adaptec controller you have? They should have come on a floppy disk with the card.

The 0x00000051 error simply states that there is a Registry Error. Here's a link on how to help troubleshoot it:

Hope this helps.
