Whenever i load my Laptop "Dell Inspiron 5150" after its been off for a couple of hours, the laptop starts to load the just stops doing anything and leaves a black screen on. If i then load it in "safe mode" it loads ok. Then if i restart the machine to laod as normal i get the following Error

Firstly a Standard Windows Error Box appears saying - The system has recovered from a serious error

When i click 'See data report' it shows me the following codes

Error signature
BcCode: c0000218 BCP: E1609890 BCP2: 00000000 BCP3: 00000000 BCP4: 00000000 OsVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 2.0 Product: 256_1

When i click on "Technial info" it says -
The following files will be included in this error report

Does this error mean anything to any one? if so please can you guide me in the right direction???

thanks

Start -> Right click on My Computer -> left click Manage -> event Viewer.

Do recent events in the System Log or Application Log give you any indication of what the error is?

Hi thanx for that

Im just trying to do a system restore 2 see if that fix's it

Ill let you know what happens

I believe there is a BIOS update to fix this problem from Dell.

If it boots up fine in safe mode but is causing problems in regular mode then go to Start - Run - msconfig :

Uncheck "Load Startup items under general tab
Click Apply , close and then restart the machine. If works then good o'wise boot into safe mode again and click Services tab on top. Put a check mark on Hide all MS services and then click Disable all. Then click apply and close. Then restart the computer.

If that doesnot work either, Right click My computer - Properties - HArdware tab and then click device mgr.
Disable Sound, Video and game ctrllrs. then try restareting in regular mode

If doesnot work goto device mgr again. If ur keyboard and mouse are PS/2 and not USB, disable all USB devices under USB ctrllrs and then retsart the machine

Hopefully it should work
