Hello,

We are having an issue with a Windows Service. It is a program we have installed called Milestone which is a surveillance program for recording from IP cameras. It has a service that is suppose to restart itself at 8am and 5pm. After it stops itself, it doesn't start back up.

I tried checking out the event log but it does not give any details about why it didn't start back up. I was curious if anyone could tell me where I could start looking to find the problem.

Thanks!

Wes

Yeah I did actually but they are saying its a Windows Issue. That's why I'm trying to find some type of error log that could tell me whats goin on :)

Try stopping it manually, then trying to restart it yourself.

It's got to give you an error, even if it's a Timeout error.

I'm praying it gives you a "Not log on as a service rights" error though.

No I dont get a "Not log on as a service rights" error.

I can stop it manually and restart it. Sometimes it does give a timeout error saying the application did not responed in a timely manner.

Did they say why it was a windows issue?
Have you added any new software of patch updates since you installed the Application? and was the application running fine until the last changes that may have occured?

The application ran fine for two months and then started acting up. The software developer says its not an issue with their software which I think is a bunch of bull. They said it could be a hardware issue, however, no other Windows services are acting up. We haven't changed anything on the server since its initial setup.
