Were having a lot of problems with Windows search recently. Windows Search services disables on every reboot even though the service is set to start automatically. Any ideas? Were running Windows 7 Enterprise.

Renaming or deleting the following folder seems to work for some users that have problems with various Services that fail to start properly.

C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\WMI\RtBackup".

Have you been through the Event Viewer to look for any clues?

Working with Vista’s new Event Viewer

No clues in the eventvwr. I have tryed deleting all files in C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\WMI\RtBackup. I turned the service to automatic and made sure everthing is enabled in the programs and features. I found a solution before with delete certain registry keys and can no longer find the site. I don't know what else it can be.

Windows Search is in the Registry at these locations.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\WSearch

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search
