WIndows SBS 2003 R2 or SBS 2008

Looking to install a new SBS server. Couple of questions.

New server - not replacing an existing one - should we use 2003 or 2008 - and what about 64-bit?

Licensing - Device or User select? Why does this part have to be so confusing.

Small amount of people (less than 10) - some will access from the office on their desktop and when they are on the road or at home with a notebook

2003 will not be supported for as long as 2008. By Microsoft I mean. If that is an issue, go with 2008.

64 bit? Depends on what you are planning to install. If you are not planning to install anything beyond standard apps, 64 bit is better, stronger and faster. It looks the same and generally works the same.

Licensing. If you have multiple users on 1 PC for instance in shift work then device is the thing for you. If each user has 1 PC and 1 laptop then go for user. That is general idea but get advice from your reseller.

SBS is definitely the product for you. It walks you through almost everything and for 10 people, I'd be talking to resellers about how heavily they will discount 2003 since it is an old product. If they don't make it worthwhile, I'd just plump for the new version to give me the new features.

Just to let you know SBS does not support RDP only for admins and not more then 1 or 2 at a time

And like Z said SBS sounds like the product you should use even though i don't like SBS i prefer using Standard but SBS for less then 10 Users sounds like a correct choice>

SBS is a lot cheaper than Standard!

I assumed "access from the office" was Outlook Web Access or Outlook Anywhere rather than RDP.
