Which and where are the files I can make copies of to backup my registry in Windows 2000 Server?

In Backup its called System State.

Ash.

how about manually copying these files like the old win95 days?

The two filemanes that house the registry are NTUSER.dat and USRCLASS.dat. These also have .log files with them so you must copy them as well. They are all in several places including the repair folder in WINNT. I would copy them all just to be safe.

You should copy all of the files in the winnt\repair folder and the winnt\system32\config.

Win2k uses the winnt\system32\config files to dynamically load each time you boot. And the winnt\repair directory when you restore from CD.

Just my thoughts
