Hi,

I am using PPTP VPN on Windows 2003 Server standard edition.
The VPN is working and allows connecting to a network.

During the normal network logon (inside the network) there is a logon script running, which allows mapping of network shares.

I need to know how I can set up a logon script running during the remote access to map network shares so the remote user can have the necessary shares mapped.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

on your clients, in the logon screen, you can use a 'dial up connection'. Set that to use the VPN connection. THis will initiate the VPN prior to logging on

in your GPO, set the scripts to run at all times (including when a slow network connection is detected)
and last but not least, enable WINS on a server and configure your servers, clients, and VPN clients to use WINS. This will ensure the client can access the script files when over VPN.
That should work - but it might be slow...

Thanks Peterve.

Is there a way to about without enabling WINS?

Thanks

not sure... why would you not want to use WINS ?

Add a shortcut to the desktop that the user can click on to run the batch file after connecting to VPN.

Thank you,
The shortcut idea for the batch file sounds good.
