I am using system Commander 2000. First OS is WINMe and am trying to install Win95 for the second OS. It installs completely and when tries to boot up, it gives me Windows Protection Error. I need Win95 for DOS using WP5.1 for work (medical transcriptionist). I had a similar problem in the past and it was corrected with tech support at V-Com. Tried their web site and found that System Commander 2000 is an OBSOLETE program and they want me to update with SC 7. Can anyone help? Thanks

Karol

Unless the Microsoft database is incorrect, Win 95 and Win ME cannot be installed in the same system.

On my other computer I did have both installed using System commander. I had the same problem when I installed System Commander the first time, but I had their tech support give me a fix and it worked just fine. Since SC2000 is now an obsolete product, I can't get tech support unless I upgrade (which I don't want to) and am trying to find out how to remedy this. Can anyone help???

I'm not sure how System Commander 2000 works, but do know you need to hide the first 9x/ME partition when you want to boot the second (so if ME is on first partition, it needs to be hidden when booting 95).

has a free for personal use boot manager which can manage this (its part of the config). It also has utilities (windows & dos based) to hide partitions.

Also, is a utility which will let you hide partitions (SC2000 may well already have this functionality too).

Hope this helps.
