I have DEV C++, andI need to know how to program a windows program. It has a template fir Windows applications, I just cant find where to my program code. Here is what the template looks like:

Where do I put my code. Please Help

The basics are:

To design the window you use the windowclass and the createWindow() function.

To handle the actions you handle the messages in the winproc() function.

I would recommend you to read a tutorial on the subject because there is alot to know about the structure of windowsOS and how it handles windows and messages.

Do u want to make visual (Windowed) applications?
if yes, try using Borland C++ Builder, this way you have not to worry about windows messages and all that kind of "junk", you only need to write the necessary code to make your aplications functions.

I have tried Borland C++, but it didn't work for me. My machine loaded some dos prompt, it closed and nthing else happened...

you should open DOS window and compile your program like this:
bcc32 -someOptionsThere yourapplication.cpp

How could you? M$VC over BCB? Oh the humanity!

The process is rather simple, it just takes some tinkering to learn. Once you figure it out and start using C++ Builder or the command line utility, I don't think you will be disappointed...

I hope you won't sell out this easily...
