Is there a way to re-install just this?

It isn't working on two of our machines - you click on a picture and nothing happens. For the time being, I have images opening up in IE, but my boss wants them to open with picture & fax viewer.

Thanks.

I think it may be located in 'Add / Remove Programs' -> 'Windows Components', however if it is just that clicking on the picture does nothing, it may be that it has just lost is association somehow. To confirm, you can right click on a picture, go to 'Open With...' and select picture / fax viewer.

If that works then repeat the process but also tick the box which says 'Alway use this program' (or something along those lines).

I tried both of your ideas before posting, but no luck. The program is not listed as a windows component and re-associating the file does not help.

Try this...

Click on Start, Run... and type in:

regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll

and press OK. Then press OK again on the resulting success message.

Hope this helps...

Oops... forgot to add that if re-registering shimgvw.dll doesn't fix it then copy/paste the following into Notepad, save it as something like fix-it.reg then double-click on the REG file and accept it into the Registry. You may have to re-boot for the changes to take effect.

Code:
