I assisted a colleague on his PC yesterday, only to notice in XP's OS, he can preview psd files in Windows Explorer.I am the head of the design department, yet I've never know it to do this, and he didn't know what was so special about it.

Can someone help me to do this? It would be a great convenience.

I.e: in Windows Explorer you can even right-click a PSD file, goto PROPERTIES, and there is a tab called PHOTOSHOP IMAGE. How is this done? And what application has offered this service into the OS?

Thanks

P.s. Im running both Adobe and Macromedia suites.

Look at Photoshop preferences/file handling. You'll see Image Previews with various Save options. There are check boxes for Mac preview, Windows preview & icon or full size.

Thanks alot. Im using XP x64 here in the office.

I have selected 'always save', saved the setting, closed down PSCS2, but I still don't get a Photoshop tab in my OS.

Is there something I'm missing? I even looked up 'image preview' on the internet, and I still can't see what Im doing wrong.

Thanks

Is your colleague using an older version of Photoshop? I used to be able to see the thumbnails, but that stopped a few versions ago. I think that, at one time, Adobe supplied a program do support thumbnails, but stopped doing so.

Partly due to this problem, I save most of my images as tif.

Thanks Kidd,

Yes, it turns out he is using version 7. As I am running CS2, does anyone know of a 3rd party plugin of such which will allow for this?

I use Bridge all the time, but seeing them in the OS almost makes me want to go back to pre-CS!

Thanks alot.
