Hi,

I have a Windows Networker 7.2.2 User Problem.

When I try to start the user program on the client (to restore data) the user program gives me the error message: No Networker Servers can be found!

I don't know why. I can ping the server IP and the server name. tracert with the full name works fine. When I open the Administrator program (on the same machine) the client appears in the client list.

In the Manage->clients window for the client has the same server name.

The Server is a Win2003 Server, the Client is a Win2003 Server. They are not in the same domain, but as mentioned before the routing works fine.

Anyone any ideas? Thanks!

The name resolution must be OK with short AND long name on BOTH side.
Try to add the option "-s <server>" on the shortcut of winworkr.exe

Actually NetWorker can automatically detect servers only if they are in the same subnet.

However, you may add 'remote' servers as well. By default there is the file ..\nsr\res\rserver. Just add the server in a new line and restart nsrexecd. Let's see whether this will work.

Hi,

oh thanks, it works. I tried the remote server, which didn't work. But the winworkr -s was fine! Now that I have done this once, the user always finds the server.

Thanks again!

Good. Of course you may specify the servername directly with "-s servername".

My advice may still be valid but i have made a mistake - the filename is actually "rservers" and not "rserver". Now, this was intended to monitor "remote" servers (in other subnets) with nsradmin. I was not sure about the User program. But i can not test this in the moment.
