I can't boot up my PC. It is running Windows ME. I recently installed the new Firefox beta.

When I turn on the comp, it loads up, it shows the background with the "busy" cursor, and it just sits there.

When I load it into safe mode it shows 3 errors.
1)Scandskw had caused an error in Kernel32.dll, Scandskw will now close.
2)Explorer had caused an error in Kernel32.dll, Explorer will now close.
3)Stmgr had caused an error in Kernel32.dll, Stmgr will now close.

What do I do to solve this? I tried "scanreg /restore" but that didn't work. I don't know what else to do.

I have tried a few more remedies, but no luck.

I tried to boot up the System Restore utility of Windows ME from a command prompt ( When I did that I got an error upon booting:
- rundll32 had caused an error in Kernel32.dll, rundll32 will now close

I tried to replace Kernel32.dll with the file from another PC (also running Windows ME), and that didn't work.

Now I am prepared to backup my Windows directory and re-install Windows ME. Unless anyone can give me a better idea of how to fix my comp.
