Try to run the "msconfig" application that come with Window. With this tool, you can configure all booting options you can set in the windows loader in a gui interface.

Just click Start | Execute... and type "msconfig" (without quotes) and you will surely find what you are seeking

I believe it's Start->Run, not Start->Execute

Also, didn't the user say safe mode doesn't even work? You can't run msconfig if you can't even get to your desktop...

Sorry for the Start->Run, I'm a french user, and I always read "Executer" in the "Demarrer" menu...

And you are right too for msconfig, but I will ask a question : Is there any switches ("win.com /s" for example) to start windows in safe mode, or a tool to edit the Windows registry and force it to start in safe mode?
