I have a laptop running Windows Me connected to NT 4 network. I want anyone using it to have policies and a mandatory roaming profile. How do you make it look to the netlogon share for policies and a group mandatory profile.
Help me please?
Policies are assigned to profiles of users who are members of the groups that the policy is applied to.
You need to assign your users to roaming profiles in User Manager for Domains, Profiles Tab. This is simply done by creating a shared folder on a file server, and typing the location into the User Profile Path box (eg \\myfileserver\profiles\%username%).
You can then change the name of the ntuser.dat to ntuser.man for each user to make the profile mandatory.
The profiles are being saved in each users area on the fileserver. I really want each user to have a profile set for the group they belong to. For my NT and W2K pro workstations users profiles are set by group i.e.
\\server\profiles\groupname\ntuser.man
I have put a copy of user.man in the same directory for my Me workstation users but it isn't being picked up when they logon.
Can anyone help me please?!!!!
