Windows ME Lexmark USB Printer freezes machine

Windows ME.
Lexmark USB printer. Dont know what model.

Seem to install fine. The machine is now freezing when trying to print.

Is it worth reinstalling from scratch?

Dont use ME but asume the same principle of deleting the device from device manager and then reinstalling could work?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

ME is infamous for its "lockups" I am running it in my daughter's game computer with and add-on memory manager with very good results. They are free at zd net and other similar sites. Try that, it's free. If you rely on your computer for important stuff, install Win2000 or XP.
