Hi All,

Have a computer that I'm repairing for an Aunt, but I forgot to write down the username for the Internet Dial Up connection (It's a long number - don't ask!!)

I have the password, and a backup copy of the entire HDD that I moved into a directory on my PC incase I needed to restore anything, but I don't want to restore all of it and do everything again for a dial up username, so...

Does anyone know how to get the username for the connection from the old drive? Is it in the registry or a file somewhere?

Worst comes to worst, I'll get them to call the ISP, but in the meantime, anyone have any ideas?

Cheers,
Sam

Didn't see you get a response so I'll throw in what I know. If they had the same userid for both internet and mail access (not unusual), it is possible their userid is stored in the registry linked to their mail account info. Run regedit-find-"smtp" or "pop3" and check.
