We have a local intranet site which has Windows Intergrated Authentication - This is to get the users logon details and store them for the profile.

In the browser, you type in the IP address and everything works fine - Stores the Username, if you put the hostname in nothing works - even through DNS is correct and it pings to the IP, if you put the FQDN in the web page loads up, asks for details and then does not save the profile.

Could this be an issue with a firewall?
Any Ideas?

Just wanted you to know I fixed the problem.

Within IE if you use an _ in DNS then this is not seen in IE.

For example we had and that does not work (We only used that to build the Test Intranet since we already have one)

Just wanted to let you know since Firefox ignores the _ and it works.
