Windows Installer problem

Hi,

I have a Windows 2000 SP4 server which has a corrupted Windows installer, after putting the service on disabled and a reboot of the server the service dissappeared.

I have downloaded a new Windows installer 2.0 package, this executable is named : InstMSIw.exe

When executing this program it says that the installer service already exists, but when I try to execute a MSI file it doesn't work because it has no associated program to execute it.

How can I install the Windows Installer service again ?

Have you tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it? That might fix your problem
