Windows Forms User Control

I have a composite user control on a windows form. How can this control get a value from a field on the parent form?

Your control should not know anything about the form it is on. The form should tell your control what's on it, or the control should fire an event telling the parent form to do something.

Example: when you click a button, does your button know about your form? No, you capture the ButtonClick event and your form does the work.
