Hey everyone, I've got a question about the windows firewall on windows server 2003. Everytime I try and click on the icon I get a message saying "Windows Firewall cannot run because another program or service is running that might use the network address translation component (Ipnat.sys)". All I need to do is check to make sure the firewall is letting mysql run. So if no one knows how to get that error to go away, maybe we can figure something else out. Also if anyone knows how to get mysql working on windows 2003 server, that would be even better. Even though this is probably not the right forum to ask.

Thanks in advance for ANY help.

Matt

on the server u have to you have windows isa 2004 running???

the reason i ask is that i also get that (Ipnat.sys) on my firewall machine that has isa 2004 so if u have u need to switch off firewall to allow the settings to be changed if not i think its because you hae NAT running ???

It also might be that you are using ICS (internet connection sharing). Uncheck that before activating RRAS.

Thanks for the replies, both of your answers helped me figure out the solution. I had to turn of NAT through Routing and Remote Access. Once i turned that off, it let me access Windows Firewall. I'm still trying to get MySQL to work.
Thanks,
Matt

Go to Start then Administrative Tools then click on Routing and Remote Access. And you should get something that has your computer name on it. Right click and click on disable. Thats how I disabled it. If you have any more questions. Just ask.
