Hi there:

Very new at this, and unaware of this type of compatibility. Can Windows XP computers with file sharing access each other with shares enabled?

I have a broadband router VPN server router and a VPN Endpoint router currently linked right now with a working tunnel (using the Internet at two separate sites). Netbeui protocols are being transmitted through the server router (using L2TP). We can also ping each other’s computers with the two different subnets, as well as find each other using Windows search with our ip's, not the computer names. But get error messages saying we don't have rights to each other’s computers when we double click on the icons that represent our computers. We also don't showing up in each others 'Network Neighborhoods', under the same workgroup.

Any help would be appreciated. Trying to explore this technology in hopes of making a living at making these solutions work for companies.

I have had a simalar problem in the past have you tried using the command prompt and enter

net use \\ip /user:username or
net use \\computername /user:username

this may work, the shared folder may have rights assigned for a different user name if you enter the user and password that created the share you may be able to view.
