Windows Explorer Left Pane Goed

After 6 years the left pane in Windows 98 explorer is blank. I use it all the time.

The Forward and Back Buttons are greyed out too. There is an X which closes the pane so I know the pane is open.

I've checked and unchecked everything I can find; evidently not the correct one(s). WhatshudIdo?

Reinstalled W98 from disk over the old program. That fixt it.
