Windows Explorer Acting up

When i goto windows explorer and
double click on My Computer I get
a little flashlight that comes out
as if it is looking for the drives
on my pc. I can not see my drives
for about 3-5 minutes until that thing
finishes searching for them. This all
occured after an update and I am unable
to find a resolution. Please advise..Thanks

THank you for the link bcastner. I use
a scanjet 7400c though and none of the other
stuff looks familiar to me. So i can't use
a scanjet if i want to use windows?
that doesn't seem right

The option I would take is to add a Fast SCSI board and use the SCSI interface and not USB.
