Hi, everyone :)

I have a user running win2k, Notes 5.0 and Office 2000. He wants to be able to email as an attachment from word. Notes should be the program that opens, but OE opens, so I go to set default programs and Notes doesn't even show on the list of mail programs to be selected as default. Anybody know what's up with that?

Thanks for any ideas!

Ok, I upgraded to Notes 6.5 and it comes up on the list of mail programs in the set access and defaults window, but it won't hold the setting for Lotus. I select Notes as the default, click ok, open the window again and it's back on use current email program, but even with Notes open, Word won't recognise the program to use the email as attachment option.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Open internet epxlorer
goto tools => internet Options => programs
Select Lotus notes as mail-program

Hope it helps

So IE does not take the Windows setting for default mail ? Interesting.

Pascal.

I go to add/remove programs, in the control panel, then set program access and defaults. I disabled OE because my boss doesn't want MS apps being used. With OE enabled, Word will see OE and the option to send doc as attachment is available, but when I disable OE, the option is grayed out. Again, when I set the default to Notes, it doesn't hold the setting. This is strange. I'm hoping someone will have seen something similar.

Thanks!

In addition to the IE setting... You can set Notes as your default email program from within Notes... File --> Preferences --> User preferences, expand Mail option, select Internet option and make sure the "Use Lotus Notes as my default email program" is checked.

Thanks, trez. I tried this and it won't hold the setting there either :-( The setting within Notes must change the global Windows setting and then read it later. Whatever file/reg key this setting is held in just won't take/save the change. I don't get any errors though.

Thank you!

Hi Guys,

I'm not a Lotus Notes expert. But maybe type the administrative privileges that the user has on the client PC, have somehting to do with the changes not been saved??

Is he a local admin on the PC?
Just a thought.

Rocket

Thanks, Rocketlauncher :) I'm logging on as administrator to make the changes, so priviledges aren't the problem.
