I have windows 2000 server with windows 98 workstation computers. One of these computers is a laptop that is taken off the network and used at home. How can I set the laptop to accept the user name and password while off the network?

You can't, just click cancel instead of ok. If you're not connected to a network, what can you log on to?

just to use the laptop for word and to connect to aol or msn

What happens when you click cancel? Are you still denied access to windows? If you are try typing a fake domain in and then try cancelling.
