I have a backup that runs each night and when i check the tape all of the files are on there and can be restored. The problem is that no log is created, i've checked that folder where the log should be created and the account has write access. This started when i altered the switch one night to get a full log rather than a summary, when i altered it back it stopped working.

Here is the command if anyone can see a problem.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntbackup.exe backup systemstate "@C:\Documents and Settings\administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\data\Nightly Backup.bks" /v:yes /r:no /rs:no /hc:eek:n /m normal /j "Nightly Backup" /l:s /p "4mm DDS" /um

Thanks.

Are you getting an "completed" event in your eventlog? Are you sure the job is even running?

Also, where are you looking for the log file? Try searching the harddrive for "backup*.log" It should be in
C:\Documents and Settings\administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\data\

As i say when i check the tape all of the files are on there and can be restored. The log doesn't appear though and it's not in the reports tab when i use the NTbackup interface either.

Thanks.
