Windows added a SCSI DVD drive and i can't get rid of it. It says generic DVD-Rom SCSI cdrom device and i'm not using anything SCSI in my computer. I want to get rid of it because i think its taking one of my ide slots and it wont let me add my new hard drive. If anyone can help please do so. Thank you

this is most likely your burner software that installed that. a burner(dvd/cd) communicates with os/progs through aspi (Advanced SCSI Programming Interface) and wont function without.
since its a virtual device i doubt its blocking you from installing your hdd.
what exactly is your problem?

it would be interesting how you did that and what the problem was so someone else can profit from your solution
