We have some windows 98 workstations that when logging on to our network (NW4.1) were're asked

" Your user profile was created when your home directory was disconnected. Do you want to use your local profile to overwrite your home directory profile. YES or NO."

The user.dat file is copied to each users home directory and is updated when the user logs out. Why are we prompted with the above message and can we get rid of this. When user profiles are enabled the user.dat in c:\WINDOWS\PROFILES and the user.dat in sys:\users\username should be the same.

Network is Netware 4.1
Client is 32 bit netware client ver 3.1.0
clients are W98 and W95
User profiles are enabled

HELP

Thanks

My understanding was that the local profile was created when there was an abnormal disconnection from the network. Are you sure your users are logging out correctly?

I was just wondering, What is your primary network logon?
And does your users logon to both with the same username? [sig][/sig]
