I have a problem with a peer-to-peer network when I share dBASE files.
The files are located in the PC that functions as server. They are usually accessed from the station, and there is no problem with that. The trouble is when a file is opened in the server and the station at the same time.
When that happens, the changes made in the station are lost, as they are only saved in what I believe is a temporal local file. It also happens at low level file handling (out of any application). I opened a test file in both PCs, and added records on them. The file opened in the station (in which I added records) is a different one from the one in the server, as the changes made on each did not reflect themselves in the other.
This does not happen when three PC's are connected and the file is accessed from two stations at the same time (it works properly then), but it happens again whenever the server opens them.
I don't know if there's something that must be done with the Operating System. I tried using the Share MS-DOS command (adding it to the autoexec.bat file), but it does not work (I may not be using it correctly). Any help solving this problem would be appreciated. Thanks.
