Problem:
3 standalone DELL Laptops, running Windows 98,I burn Anti-Virus updates on a weekly basis via a DVD\CD burner on a W2k PC. Media is CD-R. When I insert CD-R into Dell laptop CD-ROM drive, laptop hangs. You can hear activity from the CD drive, then nothing, to get laptop to respond, I have to eject the CD. CD is readable on W2K machines/laptops.The CD is added to each week rather than burning a new Disc. If I burn a new disc it will work for a while! Is this anything to do with "Multi Read" or the UDF file format??

Any help greatly appreciated....

The fact that you're dealing with OS 98 says its a not so new laptop.

When you burn the CD, lower the speed that you burn. See if that help. I've found that to be the issue a lot of times.

Hi KJonnnn

Apologies, Yes, it is an oldish laptop. Will try lowering burn speed.

Thanks a lot
