Hi all,
I had a friends computer to fix it which i did!! now hes been messing about with it installing files off a windows 98 disk and it now comes up with boot options (normal, safe mode, safe mode with networking etc.) but i cant see any reason why its doing this!! also whether this has anything to do with the problem but on shut down instead of getting the usual it is now safe to turn off your computer it beeps and cuts out, i dont even see that screen!

any help is much appreciated

Thanks Luke Holder

Ok so your saying theres no modem installed, inside speaker is disconnected and the outside speakers are disconnected as well? Im curious to what is making the beep then lol. Look around and see if anything has a speaker on it or if even oddly the board has one built on.

Some MoBos have small beepers onboard. Perhaps your too.

You might try finding the beep code for the BIOS and see if it is listed.
