Hi

I've searched on google for articles but I cannot find legit pages

Basically, a collegue has brought her home PC in for me to install a 512mb SDRAM PC133 module to add to her 64mb. I have done this, but once windows 98 has loaded, we still only get 64mb listed in the system properties.

I remember something about 95/98 not being able to support large memory modules, but am unsure.

Can you guys provide me with any info/advice on this? I havent used 98 for so long and even when I did, it was on 128mb systems

Cheers

Does it see the memory module in the bios during startup?

What happens if you take the 64Mb stick out?

Another thing, check the motherboard to see the ammount of memory it can handle. Alot of older motherboards can handle a maximum of 256MB of ram.

No worries, i found the problem

M/B can handle 512mb total, but max memory per slot (2 slots total) is 256mb

Nevermind eh?

Cheers
